I love a book I can read through quickly; a book that has quirky yet relatable characters, good pacing and can make me laugh. That’s what you’ll find when you read Love Your Life – it’s another hilarious Sophie Kinsella tale about meeting the love of your life but knowing nothing about them.

Ava’s sick of online dating. After plenty of lack-lustre first dates, she’s decided to put all her energy into writing her novel. When she signs up for a romantic-fiction writing retreat in Italy, she doesn’t expect to fall in love. But then she meets someone and after spending the week together, they are both falling head over heels, despite not knowing any details about each other. Not even their names.

When they arrive back in London, the love bubble Ava and Matt have created is beginning to burst. The two begin to discover strange quirks about one another – he has a taste for rather scary-looking art, she has a gorgeous but cheeky little beagle. Will Ava and Matt be able to build a life together, or is their romance nothing but splash in the pan?

Sophie Kinsella never fails to make me smile. I don’t think I’ve ever laughed as hard reading any other book. I read most of Love Your Life in my backyard and I’m glad no one was around to see me read this because I’m sure I would have received some questionable looks…

Going into this book, I had no idea what to expect from Kinsella’s latest work and I was pleasantly surprised. There are definitely some cringe-worthy moments but they’re so humorous in nature that you can’t help but chuckle. And every time, Kinsella creates a protagonist that is relatable to me in some nature (in this case, a dog enthusiast).

It’s the ineffable, mysterious connection that happens between two humans when they connect, and they feel it… and they just know.

This atypical romance is pure entertainment and will leave you feeling hopeful and satisfied from reading such a heart-warming novel. If you’re in the need for a good laugh or just want to read some good old-fashioned romantic comedy gold, then I highly recommend you read this book. You’ll love it!
