I received Two Can Keep a Secret as a Christmas present from my brother and I was excited to delve into it after thoroughly enjoying One Of Us is Lying. In this latest instalment, there are two murders nearly twenty years apart. Both of the victims were homecoming queens, and both murders remain unsolved.

The picturesque town of Echo Ridge is renowned for its lost homecoming queens. One night in 1995, high school senior Sarah Corcoran disappears without a trace. And just five years ago, Lacey Kilduff was found dead in the eerily fitting Murderland, Echo Ridge’s very own Halloween park. Everyone suspects Malcom Kelly’s older brother and Lacey’s boyfriend, Declan, who was arguing with her in the days before her body was discovered.

Twins Ellery and Ezra Corcoran return to Echo Ridge to see out senior year. But things begin to take a sinister turn. Now it seems the killer has returned, leaving cryptic messages all over town. And despite not knowing anyone, Ellery suddenly finds herself in the running for homecoming queen. Will history repeat itself? Because, as the saying goes, two can keep a secret if one of them is dead.

Two Can Keep a Secret is full of mystery and intrigue from the very beginning. Like One Of Us is Lying, the book alternates chapters between our two protagonists, Ellery and Malcolm.

This book is brilliant! I love a good thriller/murder-mystery that you can sink your teeth into. It’s such an original, gripping story that’s easy to read and entertaining. I couldn’t put it down! There are so many possible suspects and plenty of juicy secrets to throw you off the scent. McManus creates a well-thought-out plot that’s perfectly executed. I had an inkling regarding the murders, despite the extensive list of possible suspects, but it’s one of those stories that keeps you guessing right until the very end.

If you loved One Of Us is Lying, I highly recommend you get yourself a copy of Two Can Keep a Secret. With twist after twist, you won’t be disappointed.
